Not Ronaldo.. Haaland chooses his true inspiration from Real Madrid

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has revealed that one of his main motives for joining the heavenly team is his desire to improve and develop as a player.

And it seems that the Norwegian goal machine is in place, as Haaland shines with his new team in the English Premier League under the leadership of coach Pep Guardiola.

Speaking to “FourFourTwo”, Erling said he sees Karim Benzema as one of the inspiring names for him in his sporting career and wants to do the same and stay on top.

“I don’t know what’s going to happen, but it should always be about learning and evolving,” the Norwegian said. “You can never stop looking for new ways to become better.”

He continued: “Look at Karim Benzema at Real Madrid, he is 34 years old now, and suddenly he has developed into a better player over the past two years, this is very good, I always want to do that.”

“I was watching the Premier League a lot before I got here, and I think over the past few years number 9 has become more and more rare, but that’s why it’s better to be one now.”

He explained, “This is the last position and I always wanted to be a striker because of that. I love my position.”

It is worth noting that Haaland, along with his Manchester City colleagues, is preparing to face the Spanish team Barcelona on Wednesday, in a friendly match at the Camp Nou stadium
