You mean Real Madrid? Messi: The Champions League does not always go to the best team!

It seems that the fact that Paris Saint-Germain was eliminated by Real Madrid in the Champions League last season, is still stuck in the mind of Lionel Messi, the star of the French team.

Messi has many happy memories against Real, as he scored 26 goals and provided 14 assists in 47 games during his time with Barcelona before leaving for Paris.

In his first season with Paris, the Argentine star received a shock at the hands of the Spanish team, by going out in front of him in the round of 16 of the Champions League, a confrontation after which Messi was severely criticized by his team’s fans because of his level.

What did Messi say about Real Madrid?

The Paris striker, who led Argentina to a 3-0 friendly victory over Jamaica on Wednesday morning, told the Mexican channel “TUDN”: “The goal is clear to everyone, which is the Champions League

He added: “Paris has always wanted to win the championship for a long time. The exit last season was very difficult because of the way things went because we played two great matches against Real Madrid and lost some small details

The best doesn’t always win

The Argentine striker continued his statements: “It is not a typical year this season because the World Cup will come in the middle of the season, but the main goal of Paris Saint-Germain remains the same as every year, which is to win the Champions League.”

“It’s a very tough competition because the best team doesn’t always win it, it’s always about the little details, very simple mistakes that can lead to you being knocked out, but we are preparing for these moments and you will be awake to deal with them.”
