Reduce from Manchester? Conte: I lost to Ronaldo, not United, last season

Tottenham Hotspur coach Antonio Conte fears the danger posed by Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo before the two teams’ match in the English Premier League.

Tottenham hosts Old Trafford, the stronghold of Manchester United, on Wednesday evening, in the 12th round of the 2022-23 Premier League competitions.

Tottenham’s last trip to Old Trafford was last March, when Ronaldo scored an amazing hat-trick against Antonio Conte’s team, as Manchester United won 3-2.

However, Ronaldo was not able this season to reach the same level, amid a state of conflict with Dutch coach Eric Ten Hag, coach of the “Red Devils”, but Conte insists that the “Madeira missile” remains capable of making the difference.

What did Conti say?

The Tottenham coach spoke during the match press conference about Ronaldo’s confrontation, saying: “Last season, he scored a hat-trick against us. We are talking about a great and great player. He is a player who continues to make a difference for the team he plays in.”

He added, “I am very impressed with Ronaldo, because of the professionalism that he possesses, but I hope that he will remain calm in front of us, and not do like last season when he scored three goals.”

Conte concluded: “We lost 3-2, but we lost against Ronaldo and not against Manchester United last season, I remember that well, because we played a very good match.”

What is Ronaldo’s record against Tottenham?

Ronaldo has scored eight goals against Tottenham in the Premier League, including six in his last three matches.

Tottenham is the Portuguese’s favorite victim in the English Premier League, and is the team he has scored the most goals against.
