Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo decided to break his silence after the recent crisis that occurred in the Manchester United match with Tottenham in the English Premier League.
Manchester announced this evening, Thursday, that the 37-year-old Portuguese striker was excluded from the team’s upcoming match against Chelsea.
The decision comes after what Ronaldo did during the team’s match, yesterday, against Tottenham, which the team managed to win with two goals without a response, in light of the Portuguese sitting on the bench.
The player raised a state of controversy during this meeting, after he left the stadium before the final whistle, in protest against not participating in the match against the London team, so the player decided to go out himself to talk about this incident.
What did Ronaldo say?
The Portuguese striker said through his account on the “Instagram” website: “As I have done throughout my career, I always try to live and play with respect towards my colleagues, my opponent and my coach. This has not changed, and I have never changed.”
He added: “I am the same person and professional that I have been for the past 20 years, playing football at the highest level, and respect was the most important word in my decision-making process.”
He continued: “I started playing football at a young age and there were many players older and more experienced than me who appeared in front of me as important role models, and later I tried to make myself a role model for young people like them, and unfortunately this is not always possible and sometimes there are moments of anger that get us.”
“At the moment I feel I have to keep working hard at Carrington, support my teammates, and prepare for everything in any game. We’ll be together again.”
Does Ronaldo break his contract with Manchester?
Ronaldo’s talk does not go the same way as revealed by Portuguese journalist Pedro Almeida, who confirmed that the player is determined to leave Manchester.
Almeida explained that Ronaldo is close to terminating his contract with the Red Devils, in order to move to any other team for free next January.
And some news also emerged from the newspaper “Daily Mail” that the crisis escalated further, due to Ronaldo’s refusal to participate in the last minutes against Tottenham, which angered Ten Hag during the match.
