Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola praised Newcastle United’s performance during the 2022-23 Premier League season, stressing the ability of the “McBaes” to be in the semi-finals.
Newcastle have already advanced to fourth place in the English Premier League, after a broad victory over Aston Villa by four clean points in the 14th round of the “Premier League”, after raising his score to 24 points.
Guardiola said in media statements about Newcastle’s performance: “Oh, my God, they are a strong team, and a competitor that came to stay, their coach Eddie Howe and everyone knows how good he is, with the players present and the brave way in which they play.”
He added: “There will be a lot of teams fighting for the Champions League places and fighting for the title, Newcastle is a part from that now.”
Guardiola concluded: “I watched them against Tottenham, and I saw the physical strength they have. We played against them in the third game of the season. Imagine Newcastle with only one game a week without European competition.”

While Newcastle is the team with the strongest defense in the English Premier League this season, conceding only 10 goals, while its goalkeeper Nick Pope has kept six clean sheets in six games, as the most clean sheet goalkeeper in the Premier League this season so far.
