De Bruyne: The 2022 World Cup could be my last

Manchester City and Belgium star Kevin De Bruyne has admitted that the Qatar 2022 World Cup could be his last.

The 31-year-old revealed that City players do not talk about the World Cup due to the club’s busy schedule.

“Obviously I’m 31 and I don’t know what will happen in four years,” De Bruyne said in comments after leading his team to victory over Leicester City.

He added: “This is the third participation in the World Cup and I understand what is coming and I cannot speak on behalf of someone else who will be there for the first time, we are not talking about it, the schedule is very hectic.”

Before participating in the World Cup, De Bruyne will focus strongly on the City matches, as Guardiola’s team plays four matches in three competitions in just 13 days before the start of the Qatar World Cup 2022.
