British police have arrested a former English Premier League player for drunk driving after his car smashed into a storefront in a village in County Durham.
The photos show the front of a Land Rover crammed into the front of a store in the English county of Durham.
The English newspaper “Daily Mail” confirmed that the Cleveland police released the 37-year-old former player on bail pending further investigations.
The store sustained extensive structural damage, forcing the authorities to evacuate residents of the apartment above it, fearing they would be harmed by the possibility of the building collapsing.
The store remained closed over the weekend and firefighters were called after the incident, which occurred on Friday evening.
The identity of the player or his former club has not been revealed, of course, for reasons related to the ongoing investigations by the English police at the present time.
