Argentine legend Lionel Messi, the current Inter Miami star and former Barcelona player, praised French legend Zinedine Zidane, the former Real Madrid star.
Messi said about Zidane, in statements reported by journalist Fabrizio Romano: “For me, he is one of the greatest players in history, I have always admired him.”
He added: “I followed him a lot at Real Madrid, I suffered because he was from Madrid!”
“He was always a different and elegant player, and he was also tall. He was also magical, he had everything!”
Zinedine Zidane played for Real Madrid between 2001 and 2006, when he retired, coinciding with Messi’s beginnings at Barcelona before the flea’s gradual rise in Barcelona’s golden age.
